MEXICO CITY Dustin Johnson spent a good part of this week at the WGC-Mexico Championship, like most of the players in this weeks field, trying to get a handle on how far his golf ball was flying through the thin air.For the most part, that work paid off on Thursday on his way to a 1-under 70. If anything, it was Johnsons putting that held him back on Day 1, but there was a moment that caught him off guard.From the first tee (his 10th hole of the day), Johnson hit 3-wood down the hill and over the green some 332 yards and out of bounds. He followed that with a 2-iron that ended up pin high in a bunker left of the green.

I stand closer to the ball at address, so need a face-balanced type putter. I am a good putter, who has struggled, with distance control, on the medium speed greens of the courses I normally play. Somewhere in the order of 8-9 on the stimpmeter. A guess on my part, as the clubs in New Zealand don't normally rate the green speeds.

I would add to dl's Response that given the technology that evnroll has. Their tech is nullified from shorter distance. A golfer doesn't struggle with keeping things online or distance control from 5 feet which is what evnroll does. So from longer distance their tech shines. But from 5 feet it's all about getting the ball started on line.
