Then he took it up a few notches.Starting the day two off the lead, he attempted to drive the first green with a faded fairway wood, but hit a double-cross hook 52 yards long and right of the green.For his second shot, Mickelson pulled off a towering flop over a tree blocking his path to the green that came up just short of the putting surface:

After taking that drop, he played this shot over the trees and onto the green, where he then two-putted for par:

According to a memo sent this week to members, a points-based system - as opposed to prize money - to determine eligibility was widely supported in a player survey in 2017.
