Scott outside OWGR top 50 for first time since 2010

The latest installment of the Official World Golf Ranking included a former world No. 1 dropping into nearly uncharted territory.Adam Scott spend 11 weeks atop the world rankings in 2014, but the Aussie's prolonged slide now has him down to No. 51 in the world following a missed cut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It marks the first time since March 2010 that Scott is ranked outside the top 50.Scott is not yet eligible for the U.S. Open, and likely will need to remain inside the top 60 for one of two OWGR cutoffs this summer to earn a spot at Shinnecock Hills. Should Scott fail to return to the top 50 after this week's Genesis Open, he would also be ineligible for the WGC-Mexico Championship.Scott has not recorded a top-10 finish since the FedEx St. Jude Classic in June, and his last worldwide top-5 result came at the Australian PGA Championship in December 2016.There were some upward moves in the rankings this week, highlighted by Ted Potter, Jr.'s climb from No. 246 to No. 73 following his win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Chez Reavie jumped 18 spots to No. 43 after his second runner-up finish in as many weeks, while a T-2 finish helped Phil Mickelson go from 41st to 35th.As the last man standing at the World Super 6 Perth, Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat went from No. 53 to No. 37 in the latest rankings. As he gets set to make his second PGA Tour start of the year, Tiger Woods heads to Riviera ranked No. 550 in the world, down four spots from last week.
